LJ Parks | Acoustic and Unplugged
ARTIST BIO
LJ Parks is an imaginative guitarist and singer-songwriter based in nipaluna/Hobart, Tasmania. Raised in Queenscliff and Geelong on wudawurrung country in coastal Victoria, LJ creates music that embodies lived experiences, both domestic and in the vast expanses of nature. As a solo performer her sharp, relatable storytelling is presented with a powerful voice and dynamic guitar riffs building on the music of times past with modern sensibilities in mind.
In 2023, LJ won the Cygnet Folk Festival Youth Blackboard Competition (supported by the Folk Alliance Australia), and was a participant in the AIR Women In Music Mentorship Program. Her debut EP Straits was released in late 2022 with her singles The Stove and Hobart receiving radio play and acclaim across the nation and beyond. She is currently working on her next studio recording project, which might be coming sooner than you think.
